Bentley Delays EV Plan And Focus To Hybrids

Bentley is backing away from its all-electric vehicle plans, opting for a more gradual shift to EVs.

The luxury manufacturer intends to use hybrid technology in the interim, recognizing that high-end buyers still prefer combustion engines.

Its first EV will be introduced in 2026, opening the way for an all-electric lineup by the mid-2030s.

Exciting times ahead! Bentley's cautious but daring plan allows it to gradually transition to electric vehicles while maintaining its promise of quality and performance.

Bentley is changing its strategy under the new leadership of Frank-Steffen Walliser, who has extensive experience with Porsche.

According to Walliser, the luxury sector has taken longer than expected to adopt EV technology.

.People in the luxury sector appear to be shifting away from electric cars right now," he said. "

"They only think of premium cars with combustion engines."Unlike other automakers, Bentley cannot provide both electric and gas-powered variants of the same vehicle in the same market.

"Hybrids are not only a cool new technology; they function well for a lot of clients," Walliser explained.

"We absolutely want to reduce our carbon impact, and I truly feel that synthetics can help by reducing the amount of CO2 that enters the cycle.

"Bentley is still on up with its electric aims, and the CEO has stated that we may expect to see their first EV unveiled in 2026, with a launch date in 2027.

This new model will be an excellent complement to Bentley's lineup, rather than a replacement, emphasizing Bentley's innovative spirit and forward-thinking vibe.
