Biden Administration propose to ban all the Chinese Vehicle Software
On Monday, the US Department of Trade proposed a new national security effort that would prohibit China-derived software from being used in internet-connected cars in the US.
The new law would apply to cars able to collecting data from drivers and passengers, as well as information about US infrastructure.
The ban would apply to imports and sales of vehicles that use those countries' wireless networks, such as Bluetooth, cell phones, satellites, and Wi-Fi
This rule will also ban the import and export of automated driving hardware In russia and china
This would take effect with the 2030 model year, or on January 1, 2029, for units not having a model year.
This ban applies to all vehicles on public roadways, including cars, trucks, and buses.
It would restrict self-driving technology components manufactured in Russia or China.
It would also ban cars that use Russian or Chinese technology, even if they are manufactured in the US.
