Ford has announced two recalls in the United States, affecting two of its best-selling pickup trucks: the Maverick and the F-150.
Although the recalls are unrelated, they demonstrate that the brand still has to enhance its quality.
The problem with the Maverick is more broad, with the NHTSA's recall notice showing that 144,516 vehicles have a rear-view camera display image that may freeze when in reverse.
Ford agrees that this may increase the risk of a crash and blames it to faulty memory handling, which caused a component in the end-to-end rear-view camera image processing path to fail.
Dealers will update the CTR software to fix the issue. Owners can expect to be notified of the recall beginning September 30.
The car maker says it is aware of 368 reports of this issue in North America, but has not been informed of any accidents or injuries.
Owners will be notified starting October 7, and dealers have been ordered to replace the LED Driver Module.
