Ford is recalling several thousand 2024 Mustangs due to a production fault at the parts supplier.
The recall affects 4595 Mustangs with rear suspension knuckles that may have casting flaws that weaken the part and cause cracking.
Ford will replace the damaged knuckles for free.
Owners who paid to replace the parts prior to the recall may be eligible for reimbursement
A broken suspension knuckle may decrease the car's lateral stiffness and cause severe toe-in or toe-out of the rear tire when accelerating or braking.
Toe changes may impair steering abilities, increasing the danger of a crash.
Ford is informing Mustang owners later this month, and dealer notifications are already underway.
The carmaker will evaluate recalled vehicles for impacted serial numbers on suspension components, repairing them for free as needed.
Owners who paid for their own repairs might be eligible for compensation from Ford.
