GMC is set to take the lead in electric truck sales in the United States with its latest , Sierra EV pickup.  

This vehicle adds to GMC's increasing electric truck lineup, which currently includes electric versions of the Hummer SUV and pickup.  

The GMC Sierra EV, starting with a high-end $100,000 

It appears to become the brand's best-selling electric vehicle once more affordable variations are available next year.  

GMC needs to beat the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford Motor, Rivian Automotive, and Chevrolet Silverado EV in order to take the lead in sales.  

Ford's F-150 Lightning is now leading the market, followed by Tesla's Cybertruck.  

The market for electric trucks is still in its early stages, with approximately 38,500 units sold in the first half of this year.   

GMC's Hummer EV has had a slower production ramp-up, with fewer than 1,500 units sold during the same time period.  

GMC is aiming to secure its position as the industry leader in electric vehicle trucks by focusing on luxury options and expanding its product selection.
