Hyundai is celebrating the production of their 100 millionth vehicle

Though it took 57 years to reach this milestone, it was only built a little over ten years after the 50 millionth car was made in 2013.

The 100 millionth and first car was given to its owner during a ceremony at the Ulsan Plant in South Korea as part of the celebrations.

Hyundai was founded in 1967, with its first vehicle arriving in America in 1986.

By 1992, Hyundai had produced 5 million automobiles and unveiled their first concept, the HCD-I.

Hyundai CEO Jaehoon Chang stated, "Reaching global total production of 100 million automobiles is a momentous milestone made possible by our consumers throughout the world who have selected and supported Hyundai Motor from its beginning."

"We have achieved quick growth by taking on new challenges and being always innovative," he continued. "This will enable us to go 'one step further' to another 100 million units as a mobility game changer."
