Nissan Cuts Production of the Rogue and Frontier.
Nissan has informed dealers that it will reduce production of the Rogue and Frontier by up to 40,000 vehicles in September and October.
It is a move by a company to minimize inventory and excess.
Despite the fact that the Rogue is the brand's best-selling model, dealers struggle to increase sales and generate a profit.
Sales of the Rogue have dropped 4.5 percent in the first six months of the year compared to the same period last year.
Frontier sales are really up 17.1 percent, but this has not brought the supply down far enough for either Nissan's liking.
Nissan alerted suppliers late last month that it was lowering production at its Smyrna, Tennessee, and Canton, Mississippi, plants.
It reduced Rogue production from five to four days per week, which will continue until the end of October.
Frontier production lost one day, but it will continue until March 31.
